Getting Started

Initial Consultation

We will provide you with an intake phone screening at no charge to gather basic information, answer any questions you may have and, if appropriate, discuss the next steps in booking an appointment for an initial consultation.

Depending on the age of your child/adolescent and the presenting concern, you will attend the first appointment with or without your child present, or you may attend part of the initial appointment.

The initial consultation process takes 3-4 sessions. Parents, child/adolescent and other involved members may be interviewed and may be invited to complete standardized questionnaires as part of the initial consultation.

In the first few sessions, we will gather information about the developmental history and current issues to inform assessment and treatment approaches and goals.

During the initial consultation we will work with you to develop an understanding of your concerns and collaborate with you on your goals for treatment. This consultation process allows you to ask questions, see if you feel comfortable with the process and consider whether this is a good fit for you.

With your consent we may review school records or assessment reports in order to obtain a comprehensive understanding of your child.

We presently offer services both in person and through secure video for children, adolescents and parents.

Please inquire at info@drnaomislonim.com to see if we can connect through the method that suits you most.

Fees

Psychological services in a private practice setting are not covered by OHIP. Many workplace extended health care benefits and private health insurance provide partial or full coverage for psychological services. You are encouraged to check with your insurer regarding coverage. Expenses in psychological services are also claimable as tax deduction. Fees are set with consideration of the recommendation set out by the Ontario Psychological Association.
